Gran Canaria School of Languages

I was very happy with one week course in this school. I have spontaneously decided to take a course during my long holidays in Las Palmas. I was very last minute in signing in at the end I came late and they didn't have the spot in the class of my level. Nevertheless everyone was extremely helpful trying to figure out the best placement for me even offering to try first our without commitment so I can decide whether it is suitable for me. I felt really welcomed. I was in Anna's class A2 level and it was great. Anna is amazing teacher very friendly, open minded and kind. We were 5-6 people in the class so there was enough space for everyone to be part of practice. The class was very interactive. I would love to continue if I had more time. Plus location of the school is absolutely amazing with great coffee shop and ocean view just behind the corner. Money definitely well spend! Mucha gracia!

Ich habe gerade eine Woche Bildungsurlaub in dieser Schule hinter mir und kann vorab sagen, dass alle meine Erwartungen erfüllt wurden. Die Lage der Schule ist wirklich hervorragend. Super nah am Strand, überall sind kleine Supermärkte und unzählige Restaurants, Bars, Cafés oder Kombinationen aus alledem. Das Gebäude selbst ist ein richtig schönes typisch kanarisches Haus. Die Stadt ansich hat einen tollen Flair, ich war sehr positiv überrascht. Alles war genau wie im Vorhinein beschrieben. Vor Ort sind alle sehr nett, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Ich habe dank der super Lehrerin Marta in einer Woche wirklich viel gelernt. Der Unterricht findet in einer entspannten Atmosphäre statt, aber es geht gleichzeitig zügig nach Plan vorwärts. Man merkt der Lehrerin ihre Erfahrung im Unterrichten an, ich habe selber früher viel Unterricht gegeben und wüsste nicht, wie man das besser hätte machen können. Es hat wirklich viel Spaß gemacht! Die Kritik in manchen Rezensionen kann ich jedoch nachvollziehen. Wenn ich komplett ohne Vorerfahrung angekommen wäre, hätte ich zu dem Zeitpunkt (4. Von 5 Wochen der Kurse) kaum sinnvoll einsteigen können. Da muss man dann vielleicht vorher selber ein bisschen mit planen und/oder sich ein paar Wochen an Duolingo hängen 😉 Die Klassengröße war mit acht Personen angenehm. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Im Rahmen eines Bildungsurlaubs habe ich 5 Tage lang einen Spanischkurs an der Gran Canaria School of Languages besucht. Die Lage der Schule is grandios. Die Schule ist nur 2-3 Gehminuten von einem der schönsten Strände „Las Canteras" entfernt. An meinem ersten Tag zum mündlichen Einstufungstest wurde ich sehr freundlich von dem deutschen Mitarbeiter Oliver und der spanischen Lehrerin Marta begrüßt. Meine Lehrerin Laura für die Woche war wirklich toll! Sie ist auf das Lerntempo der einzelnen Schüler:innen eingegangen, war immer freundlich, lustig und geduldig. Das Studio der Schule war in einer Top-Lage (ca. 2-3 Gehminuten vom Strand und 10 Gehminuten von der Schule entfernt) und gut gepflegt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war sehr gut. Insgesamt kann ich den Spanischkurs & das Studio im Paket als Bildungsurlaub wärmstens empfehlen. Ich hatte eine schöne Zeit ! Vielen Dank an die Schule !

las razones por las que perdí la confianza en un profesor de la clase B2 de la escuela GCSoL 1. el profesor no tiene ningún control sobre algunos de los estudiantes que ocupan demasiado tiempo diciendo tonterías, lo cual es injusto para mí y para otros alumnos que pagamos el curso también . 2. el profesor me hizo demasiadas noticias negativas sobre China con estereotipos y superioridad racial, y demasiadas preguntas sobre mi vida privada en nombre del aprendizaje. 3. el profesor favorece a una aduladora quien lo defiende, porque le pregunté un poco sobre la vida privada del profesor y la lamedora me detuvo desesperadamente. Se rió a carcajadas cuando el profesor habló sobre las noticias negativas sobre China, ¡pero el profesor no la detuvo y estuvo de acuerdo con ella! Pero mientras yo me reía del fuerte acento de inglés de la lamedora el profesor me criticaba en voz alta y públicamente. Esto no es justo. ¡El profesor es injusto! No me gusta el profesor antipático. ¡Pero no dije que los otros maestros de esta escuela son así! Solo expondré objetivamente mis experiencias y sentimientos en la clase B2. Y este maestro no es muy bueno en términos de capacidad profesional. 1. Debido a su envejecimiento prematuro, solo tenía 57 años, su voz era ronca y débil, sus palabras no eran tan claras y poderosas y su apariencia era mayor que la de un hombre de 80 años. 2. Este maestro solo les pide a los estudiantes que se turnen para decir las respuestas a la tarea del día anterior todos los días, y luego simplemente encuentra un tema al azar, de modo que los estudiantes que apenas pueden hablar con claridad pero les gusta agarrar palabras (acento demasiado fuerte, muy poco vocabulario) dicen tonterías, juegan a voluntad y no tienen nada que ver con el progreso del curso, desperdiciando el tiempo de clase y las tasas de matrícula de los estudiantes a los que no les gusta agarrar palabras. De esta manera, el maestro puede ahorrar sus esfuerzos y ganar fácilmente la matrícula. 3. Este maestro rara vez enseña y el horario de clases no es apretado. 4. El profesor fue injusto en la distribución del tiempo de uso de la palabra para cada alumno. 5. Este maestro satisface su oscura estrechez de miras y prejuicios en nombre de la enseñanza. 。zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ¡Aparentemente, los comentaristas a continuación están mintiendo! Fue la anciana irlandesa con una conciencia de clase desigual la que solo permitió que el maestro me hiciera preguntas privadas una y otra vez, ¡pero me prohibió hacerle al maestro una pequeña pregunta personal! Primero se rió de mí por refutar el argumento de la maestra de que el coronavirus vino de China, ¡y luego me reí de su fuerte acento inglés! Esta es la causa y el efecto del asunto, pero el comentarista invierte el blanco y negro y revierte el efecto como causa, lo cual es una muy mala práctica.

Its a great small school near the beach Las Canteras. I spent a really nice month overthere and I learn much more than I expected. Lessons are 9-13. I would like to thank my teachers Ana and Victoria. Especially lessons with Ana are fun, lots of games to learn and I felt like a kid again when I enjoyed the activity and I forgot about time completely few times. I also like that you learn from context and by repeating. Its a great value for the price. And mostly it depends on you, how much energy and time you put in practise in real life there and in your free time. If you wanna be close to the beach, good weather, learn spanish and have many things to do after school in the city - its a great place to be.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Loved my B1 Spanish course here, my teacher Natalia was excellent and Oliver was very responsive when I had questions, more so then other schools when I was trying to figure out where to take Spanish classes. Do yourself a favor and book their accommodation too, I made a mistake and booked a guesthouse 20 minutes away that was horrible. There were students in my class who stayed in the Gran Canaria's guest rooms and said they were good, I wish I did that! All in all a beautiful trip, make sure to snorkel one of the days!
